Summary

Nearly two hours after I started preparing this meal, we sat down to eat it. That was way longer than the recipe card said it would take. I was exhausted and the kitchen was really hot by the time I finished. While Gail and I agree that the flavor was good, and it was certainly filling (way too much food really), the process took all the joy out of it for me.

I’m not sure why it took so long. It doesn’t seem all that hard. But it just took what felt like forever.

More Chutney, Please

I wish these meal kit companies would have us make larger quantities of the good stuff…the sauces. This chutney was delicious, but we needed a double batch.

Keep Vinegars On Hand

Martha and Marley Spoon meal kits seem to use white wine vinegar, red wine vinegar, and apple cider vinegar in a lot of recipes. These aren’t things I would normally have around the house, but they don’t come with the meal kits. We are expected to use our own. So if this isn’t something you have in your pantry, get some before ordering from Marley Spoon. You’ll need them.

One Tip

Fry the rolls in two batches. There’s just not enough room to work with them and flip them over when all 4 are in the pan at one time.

If you look in the photo where I have all the ingredients laid out, you’ll see a cute little checkered-top jar. So while I don’t know how much was in the jar exactly, I’d guess it was maybe half a cup or so. I think you can be pretty flexible in your guesstimate.
