Summary

Try Not To Die

The biggest issue I had with this recipe is the instructions that say to cook the chicken 17-22 minutes. Y’all, do that only if you really want to die. If you’d prefer to live, don’t listen to those instructions, and double that time. I mean, what are they thinking?? Some first-time cooks will faithfully follow those directions and serve raw chicken.

Great First Bite

The first bite of the chicken had a very nice and surprising flavor. But it didn’t last. I don’t know why, but Gail and I both agreed that the flavor quickly dissipated (somehow), and the rest of the chicken was much less flavorful. Yes, it had the sauce over all of it, btw.

Bok Choy Got Mixed Reviews

Neither of us ever had bok choy so this was a first. I liked it (and I’m not big on green things). Gail wasn’t fond of it, but she ate it anyway. She’s a trooper like that.

It’s summertime. It’s hot. Baking chicken for nearly an hour made me hot, sweaty, and grumpy. If the flavor had been kickass, I could have overlooked the heat and the attempt to kill us, but since it wasn’t, there won’t be any overlooking here.

Tired, grumpy, and disappointed. That about sums it up.
