Totally dig the Al Pastor flavor
Cut To The Chase
The Al Pastor sauce is so scrumptious! The sauce comes pre-mixed, so I had to go to the Green Chef site to find out what’s in it. Along with water and natural gums, the ingredients are:
- Tomatoes and tomato paste
- Pineapple juice
- Yellow onion
- Apple cider vinegar
- Smoked paprika
- Ancho chili powder
- Chipotle pepper
- Sea salt
This Al Pastor sauce, along with the pineapple chunks that I added to it, really made this dish burst with flavor. I’ve never tasted this particular flavor before, and it’s one I want to taste again!
The black beans and cilantro aioli slaw were nice additions, but they paled in comparison to the tacos.
Oh and definitely the white corn tortillas made a difference as well. This would not have tasted as good on flour tortillas.
Green Chef won me over again with the ease of prep work. Too easy!
This is definitely NOT a dish to prepare on a first date! You are going to get beans and sauce and this and that all over your chest, your chin, your hands, everywhere! Everything falls out of the tacos, but just scoop it all back up and shove it in your mouth. Clean up later!
And speaking of clean up, the cleanup afterwards isn’t too bad, but it’s not worthy of a perfect score either.
P.S. One thing to note…one of the two radishes was bad. You can see a pic of it above. Not that big a deal, but I like to make note of these things when evaluating these meal kit services.
